Virgin claims this is the most competitive rate ever offered for its Gig1 plan. With these speeds, users can download a feature-length HD movie in under half a minute and have a 50GB PS5 game ready to play in less than seven minutes.
While households with 70Mbps speeds may spend over 90 minutes downloading the same game, Virgin’s faster connection ensures smooth streaming and online gaming experiences. The discounted rate of £26.99 will rise to £30.99 in April 2027 and further to £34.99 in April 2028 during the contract period.

In contrast, BT’s 900Mbps connection comes at a higher cost of £37.99. For those considering alternative providers, Community Fibre offers 1Gbps speeds at £25 per month with the first three months free, but this service is limited to London and select south-east locations.
