A tragic incident unfolded on the M6 as a man lost his life in a fatal collision caused by a car driving in the wrong direction. The crash occurred on the southbound section of the motorway near Leyland and Standish, close to the Charnock Richard services, around 9.30 pm yesterday. Prior to the accident, authorities had received reports of a Vauxhall Astra traveling against the flow of traffic on the motorway.
Subsequently, a collision transpired on the southbound carriageway involving the Vauxhall Astra and a Toyota Corolla. Regrettably, the driver of the Astra, a man in his 50s, succumbed to the crash at the scene.
