“London Toddler Dies from Chemical Exposure, Two Arrested”

Date:

A man and a woman have been taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter following the tragic death of a one-year-old girl in a flat where hazardous chemicals were reported. The incident occurred in Barking Road, Upton Park, Newham, east London, prompting fire crews to respond after two adults and two children sought medical help due to a chemical odor in the residence. Unfortunately, the infant girl passed away in the hospital, believed to have been exposed to the chemicals.

The arrested individuals, a 41-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman unrelated to the victim, are currently under investigation for manslaughter. London Fire Brigade confirmed the evacuation of approximately 12 people from nearby properties as a precaution. The Metropolitan Police are providing support to the girl’s family, with no indication of any terrorist involvement in the incident.

In response to the tragedy, the fire brigade conducted a thorough search of the property for hazardous substances. Tragically, one child lost their life in the hospital after being exposed to the chemicals, while the others, including the six-year-old child and the adults, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service with the assistance of the fire brigade.
