Disgraced Sarah Ferguson is reportedly considering leaving the UK amidst the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Sources mention that the former Duchess is contemplating residing in a guest suite at a luxurious oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and son-in-law Jack Brooksbank. This potential move coincides with her and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s plans to relocate from their current Royal Lodge residence.
Fergie and Andrew were asked to leave their estate due to the controversy surrounding their ties to the late billionaire Epstein, who was involved in child sex trafficking. Despite allegations, Andrew has maintained his innocence regarding any association with Epstein’s illegal activities.
Following the surfacing of a 2011 email where Fergie referred to Epstein as her “supreme friend” after his conviction for child sex crimes, she faced repercussions. Reports suggest that she was removed from several charities and appeared to express regret over publicly criticizing Epstein.
In the controversial email, Fergie praised Epstein as a loyal and generous friend to her and her family, contradicting her previous statements denouncing their relationship as a significant error. She declared her intention to sever all connections with Epstein, only to later apologize to him in a seemingly humbling manner.
A spokesperson for the former Duchess clarified that the email was prompted by a legal threat from Epstein and was an attempt to mitigate any potential legal actions. The spokesperson emphasized that the email was strategic advice given to counter Epstein’s threats.
Amid the fallout from the Epstein scandal, Fergie is said to be on the brink of a breakdown, as shared by royal expert Phil Dampier, who relayed information from one of her acquaintances. Dampier revealed that Fergie’s sister Jane flew in from Australia to offer support during this challenging period.
The impending departure of Fergie and Andrew from the Royal Lodge signifies the end of their long-standing living arrangement despite their divorce in 1996. Andrew is anticipated to relocate to the Sandringham estate after being stripped of his titles by his brother, King Charles.
