Teen brags in rap video after fatally stabbing teen in Manchester

Date:

A court disclosed that a teenager, accused of killing a 14-year-old boy, bragged about committing the act in a rap video shortly after the incident. The victim, Ibrahima Seck, was fatally stabbed while on his way to a football game in the New Moston district of Manchester in June. Despite seeking assistance from a nearby couple, Ibrahima succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Three teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, are currently standing trial for the murder, with their identities protected due to their young age. Prosecutors allege that these individuals, part of a larger group, had been threatening Ibrahima, his family, and friends leading up to the tragic event.

According to Jamie Hamilton KC, the prosecution barrister, Ibrahima was pursued by the group and attacked after slipping and falling. The assailant allegedly knelt over Ibrahima and fatally stabbed him, as captured in a self-filmed rap video where the perpetrator proudly declared “we just done a murder.”

Witnesses, including Ibrahima’s brothers, observed the attack, with one brother recalling the assailant demanding an item during the assault. The prosecution emphasized that the stabbing was a deliberate act, not accidental.

Although CCTV footage of the incident was presented in court, the actual stabbing moment was obstructed by a tree. However, enhanced police audio containing shouts and screams was played to the jury. Prosecutors also mentioned that two women immediately removed two of the defendants from the crime scene post-stabbing.

The three teenagers have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and manslaughter, while the two women deny allegations of assisting an offender. The trial at Manchester Crown Court is ongoing.
