“Late Golen Strike Secures Draw in Ottawa vs. Toronto Clash”

Nicola Golen found the back of the net just two minutes into extra time, securing a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. Golen’s goal in the 92nd minute allowed the league-leading Rapid to earn one point in the standings. Ottawa’s other goal came from Melanie Forbes in the 13th minute.

Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky scored for third-place Toronto (7-4-4) in response. The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.

Additionally, it was revealed earlier in the day that Ottawa’s TD Place will serve as the host venue for the upcoming Northern Super League final on November 14.
