“Remains of Third Man Found at Ontario Property”

Date:

The discovery of Lawrence Bertrim’s remains, the third man found at a rural property in eastern Ontario near Smiths Falls, was confirmed by the police earlier this week. Mayor Shawn Pankow stated that the news brought mixed emotions, as it holds hope for missing individuals like Bertrim, who disappeared nearly four years ago, but also provides closure and dignity in case of a tragic outcome.

The rural property on Kelly Jordan Road in Montague, near Smiths Falls, has become the site of grim discoveries, with the recent findings of Robert Lambert’s remains, who had been missing for a longer period. Furthermore, Robbie Thomson’s remains were discovered nine months earlier. While charges have been laid in Thomson’s case, no arrests have been made in connection to the deaths of Bertrim and Lambert, with rewards offered for any valuable information.

Despite the three men being found at the same location, the police have not directly linked their deaths. Authorities urge the public to allow space for the ongoing investigations and respect the families involved, emphasizing the importance of conducting a thorough inquiry to bring closure and answers to the affected parties.

Smiths Falls, known for its economic ties to the Hershey’s chocolate factory and cannabis production, has been rattled by the unfolding events at the Kelly Jordan Road property. Residents have expressed shock at the series of discoveries, with one individual describing the site as “quite the graveyard.” Mayor Pankow acknowledged the unprecedented nature of the situation in the town, especially since Bertrim was last seen in the downtown area.

While anxiety had gripped the community following the disappearances of Bertrim and Thomson in previous years, the apprehension has somewhat subsided with the progress in the investigations. Despite arrests made in Thomson’s case, the mayor anticipates further charges to come in the remaining cases, instilling a sense of reassurance among residents.

As the investigations continue, it is crucial for the public to cooperate with law enforcement and refrain from speculation. The police are dedicated to uncovering the truth behind the deaths of the three men, striving to provide closure to the families and the community. The ongoing efforts aim to bring justice and clarity to the tragic events that have unfolded in Smiths Falls.
