“Costa Blanca: Top Budget-Friendly Holiday Destination 2026”

Date:

A sought-after region in Spain known for its white sandy beaches and clear blue waters has been identified as the most budget-friendly summer holiday destination for 2026.

In preparation for next year’s summer getaways, a comparison of 5,393 package holidays by Jet2holidays and easyJet Holidays revealed the most economical options. The analysis considered a seven-night stay, including flights, departing around August 2, with two individuals sharing a room with various meal plans.

After thorough examination, experts determined that Costa Blanca, situated along Spain’s Mediterranean coastline, offered the best value for a holiday deal in the upcoming year. A seven-night package in Costa Blanca during peak summer was found to cost an average of £864 per person.

This affordability is partly attributed to the popular and cost-effective beach destination of Benidorm, often likened to the ‘New York of the Mediterranean’ or the ‘Spanish Las Vegas’. Benidorm’s expansive golden beaches, azure waters, reasonable drink prices, vibrant nightlife, family-friendly activities, and towering structures contribute to its distinctive charm.

The research by Which? highlighted that Benidorm presented some of the cheapest holiday options, starting from £535 per person for a self-catering week at the two-star Playamar apartments. Alternatively, an all-inclusive stay at the four-star Flamingo Beach Resort, boasting three outdoor pools, would cost £886 per person with EasyJet Holidays.

Apart from Benidorm, Costa Blanca also offers quieter Spanish locales away from the tourist hubbub. One such option is the picturesque hilltop town of Altea, providing breathtaking Mediterranean views. Accommodation-only choices at the luxurious five-star SH Villa Gadea start from £1,033 per person.

Costa Blanca emerged as the sole destination offering a sub-£900 week-long stay in August, as per Which? findings. In other research outcomes, Tuscany in Italy was identified as the second most affordable package holiday spot.

Tuscany, known for its rolling hills, Renaissance art, and iconic cities like Florence, Siena, and Pisa, would cost £929 per person for a week-long holiday package inclusive of flights and lodging.

Claiming the third position on the list of cost-effective summer getaways is the stunning Agadir coast in Morocco, renowned for its vast sandy beaches and reputation as a premier resort destination. With numerous accommodation options along the coast, centered around beach activities, a stay in Agadir would total £946 per person.

Which? highlighted that six of the top ten cheapest holiday destinations for 2026 are in Spain, including Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria. Additionally, Zante in Greece, celebrated for its clear waters, lush scenery, and vibrant nightlife, secured a place in the top 10.

These are the most affordable package holiday destinations for 2026, as identified by Which?, indicating the average cost per person for a seven-night package stay.
