Jeffrey Epstein referred to Donald Trump as “corrupt” and “extremely wicked” in newly released emails today. The correspondence was part of a collection of 23,000 documents provided to the US House Oversight Committee by Epstein’s estate after his death.
Among the revelations in the emails was Epstein offering advice to Russian officials on how to interact with Trump just before the former US President’s meeting with Vladimir Putin. One email exchange from August 2018 between Epstein and Kathy Reummler, a former White House Counsel, discussed Michael Cohen, Trump’s former ‘fixer,’ who was contemplating cooperating with authorities regarding alleged illegal payments made to Karen McDougal.
Epstein expressed his knowledge of Trump’s unethical behavior, stating, “I know how corrupt Donald is.” This was further emphasized when Cohen later pleaded guilty to various charges, implicating Trump in the process. Cohen’s guilty plea led to Trump being convicted on multiple felony counts related to payments made to McDougal and Stormy Daniels.
Furthermore, in communications with New York Times journalist Landon Thomas Jr., Epstein described Trump as “malevolent beyond comprehension,” indicating his deep disdain for the former President. Epstein was also revealed to have been advising senior Russian officials on how to manage their relationship with Trump.
The emails showcased Epstein’s attempts to influence international affairs, including interactions with Thorbjørn Jagland, the former Prime Minister of Norway. These exchanges took place during a period when concerns were raised about Jagland’s approach to Russia and corruption issues.
Epstein’s efforts to connect with Russian figures and his critical views on Trump’s performance at various summits were also highlighted in the emails. The revelations shed light on Epstein’s involvement in political circles and his opinions on key global leaders.
