A significant online beauty retailer is potentially up for sale as advisors have been enlisted to conduct a business evaluation. Founded in 1999 by brothers Arron and David Gabbie and headquartered in Manchester, Beauty Bay offers over 200 brands, including Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its own product line.
According to a recent report by Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure new funding, which may involve a complete sale of the company. Interpath, the consultancy firm, is said to be collaborating with Beauty Bay on this endeavor.
With a staff of 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has been approached for a statement by the Mirror. This development follows the recent news of beauty brand Malin + Goetz going into administration and closing its seven UK stores, impacting more than 70 jobs.
While online orders from Malin + Goetz are temporarily halted, customers can still buy their products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK. The company’s spokesperson confirmed the decision to place the UK business under administration, resulting in store closures and job losses.
Malin + Goetz, established in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six products catering to all skin types. Over time, the brand expanded into fragrance, bodycare, and other beauty segments. The company’s website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, although the exact duration is unclear.
