“Raducanu Supporter Ejected from Australian Open for Disruption”

Date:

A tennis enthusiast known for supporting Emma Raducanu has been ejected from the Australian Open for disruptive behavior. James Bray gained attention after Raducanu acknowledged him post-match. However, his exuberant cheering during another match led to his removal from the tournament grounds by police.

Bray, donning an ‘Australia’ tank top, affectionately called Raducanu ‘Raddo’ during her game. Raducanu, appreciating his support, invited him to attend all her matches. Despite his newfound fame, Bray’s enthusiastic cheering for Alex de Minaur drew complaints for being too loud, resulting in his expulsion.

Sharing the incident on Instagram, Bray revealed being escorted out and fined $700 for being “too rowdy.” Despite being barred from the venue for 24 hours, Bray sarcastically thanked the authorities for ejecting him. He expressed disappointment at the situation, emphasizing his respectful behavior towards the players.

Tennis Australia confirmed Bray received warnings before his removal due to disruptive behavior. Security and police had to intervene as Bray continued to disrupt other spectators despite multiple warnings. Victoria Police stated that 21 individuals were evicted for various incidents, highlighting the overall positive behavior of attendees at the event.

As Bray reflected on the experience, he found humor in the situation, despite feeling unfairly treated. Despite the setback, authorities expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of attendees at the Australian Open.
