A series of missile and drone attacks by Russia aimed at Ukraine’s capital and its vicinity resulted in the injury of at least 16 individuals overnight and throughout Thursday morning, as confirmed by local authorities. The Kyiv City Military Administration disclosed that over 10 locations were targeted in the assaults, with a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy among the wounded, according to a statement released on Telegram.
Ukraine’s Air Force announced that it successfully neutralized or eliminated 131 Russian airborne targets during the nocturnal offensive. The primary regions under attack were Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, with strikes recorded at 36 sites and debris from intercepted targets falling at five locations. The assault featured ballistic and cruise missiles, along with 157 drones and decoys.
Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that the military struck metallurgical and electronics plants, military-industrial complex factories, energy facilities, and transportation infrastructures in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions. Additionally, the ministry disclosed that three cargo ships and a ferry involved in supplying materials to the Ukrainian military were hit at the Chornomorsk port.
In Odesa, seven individuals, including two children, sustained injuries, as per Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Damage was inflicted on apartments on the 14th to 16th floors of a residential building. Furthermore, a private residential structure in Odesa was demolished, while warehouses, a kindergarten, vehicles, and garages suffered harm at various locations, as per the service’s Telegram statement.
Local authorities reported damages to a warehouse, an office building, residential structures, and vehicles in Kyiv’s Dniprovsky district. Additionally, a warehouse in the Solomyansky district and warehouses and vehicles in the Darnitsky district were impacted.
In the Podilsky district, a non-residential building’s roof was damaged, as authorities stated. Across the Obukhiv, Brovary, Fastiv, and Bucha districts in the Kyiv region, civilian areas and infrastructure were targeted, as outlined by Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration. A total of 33 sites were affected, with the most significant damage occurring in the Brovary district, where 14 locations were struck, and the Fastiv district, which reported 10 damaged sites.
The impacted sites encompassed private residences, warehouses, production facilities, and vehicles. No casualties or injuries were reported in the aftermath, Tkachenko further mentioned in his Telegram statement.
