The 66-year-old former duchess has been keeping a low profile after admitting to contacting convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2011. In an email to Epstein, she apologized for criticizing him in a media interview.
Following this scandal and the controversies surrounding her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, Sarah and Andrew have lost their Royal titles and the Royal Lodge residence. While Andrew, 65, is relocating to a property on King Charles’ private Sandringham estate, Sarah is making arrangements for separate accommodation, with Portugal emerging as a possible destination.
According to sources, Sarah is expected to move to a luxury oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank. The plush property is located at the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort in Melides, where Jack is employed, and was purchased by the couple in May 2022.
The resort, situated just 82 miles south of Lisbon, offers an intimate and low-density community, making it an ideal hideaway for Sarah to evade the UK’s public scrutiny. It features a beach club, various dining options, and a range of activities such as yoga, watersports, hiking, and golf. Additionally, there is an equestrian center for Sarah to indulge in her passion for horses.
Notably, other notable figures like Madonna and Alicia Vikander are rumored to own properties in the vicinity. A US source familiar with the Costa Terra resort mentioned that it would be a suitable retreat for Sarah amidst the ongoing Epstein controversy. Another affluent resident of the estate disclosed that Sarah is expected to arrive in January, hinting at a potential long-term stay and integration into the local social scene.
