A tragic incident unfolded as a Turkish teenager lost his life in what his coworkers are now describing as a prank gone wrong.
Muhammed Kendirci, a 15-year-old apprentice in carpentry, passed away due to severe internal injuries after being restrained by his colleagues, including his employer Habip Aksoy. The coworkers allegedly bound Kendirci’s hands, forcibly removed his trousers, and inserted an air compressor hose into his rectum.
Kendirci was rushed to Harran University Research and Application Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries five days later. Aksoy was initially taken into custody by law enforcement but was later released on bail before being arrested again, pending formal charges.
This tragic incident is not an isolated case involving the misuse of high-pressure air tubes. While commonly used for tasks like vehicle maintenance and operating nail guns, the tool has been linked to the deaths of two other young individuals in recent years.
In a similar occurrence in 2023, 16-year-old Motilal Sahu in India suffered fatal internal injuries when a colleague pushed a compressed air tube into his rectum as a supposed joke. Dheerajsingh Goud, 21, allegedly grabbed the hose from his cleaning equipment and caused severe harm to Sahu’s bowels.
Sahu collapsed at the Poona Flour and Foods processing facility in Hadapsar, where he later died from his internal wounds. In a previous incident in 2017, 17-year-old car wash worker Wesner Moreira da Silva lost his life after coworkers inserted a high-pressure air hose into his rectum, leading to the rupture of his intestines.
As a result of the latter incident, Thiago Giovanni Demarco Sena and Willian Enrique Larrea were found guilty of sexually assaulting and killing Silva, receiving lengthy prison sentences exceeding 12 years.
