Apple has recently rolled out a crucial update for iPhone users to address an issue hindering wireless charging on some devices. The glitch has caused certain users to rely solely on MagSafe wireless charging. Although Apple states that only a small number of users are affected, it is recommended for all iPhone owners to ensure their devices are up to date.
The update is particularly important for iPhone 17 models, including the Pro and Pro Max versions, as well as the iPhone Air. This update specifically targets a problem that hinders wired charging on these models when the battery is nearly depleted, according to Apple.
To install the update, users can easily navigate to Settings, select General, and then tap on Software Update. The update, labeled iOS 26.5.1, is sizable at 13.6GB, so it is advisable to connect to Wi-Fi or have unlimited mobile data. Users can choose to update immediately or schedule it for a time when they are not using the device.
Looking ahead, Apple is gearing up for its annual WWDC Developers Conference starting on June 8, where the company is expected to unveil the new iOS 27 upgrade. This upgrade promises to introduce a host of new features to iPhones, potentially enhancing their AI capabilities.
